Professional Development Courses:
Craniosacral therapy is a deep well. At the surface, it is a collection of techniques, based on a mechanistic model common to all physical therapies. Deeper, the practitioner encounters a transpersonal dynamic of emotion and increasingly subtle and fluid sensation in the practice. At its deepest, with much experience, and when integrated with related osteopathic modalities such as myofascial release and visceral manipulation, the training of attention, the development of insight and compassion in resolving the body / mind model, craniosacral therapy can become a whole approach. And later, after much experience working at depth, one may well be ready to begin working with babies.
This comprehensive program works stepwise in 4 modules from the surface to the depths, from mechanics, through fluid dynamics, to energetics, to pediatrics.
A dynamic array of teaching strategies are offered to accommodate differing learning strengths:
-multimedia presentation
-demonstration
-discussion
-meditation and subtle awareness exercises
-partner and group hands on work
-consistent and specific observation, support and corrective hands on feedback from the instructor
-options for continuing distance learning support after each course: email, phone, videoconferencing
-options for clinical apprenticeship
*prerequisite: basic anatomy / physiology / pathology common to all medical training.
Intended for massage therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, manual therapists, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, traditional chinese medical practitioners, dentists, orthodontists, midwives, nurses, psychologists, homeopaths and other allied health practitioners seeking to deepen their practices, this professional development program offers a complete approach to craniosacral therapy and its related osteopathic disciplines.
